Adjective

Adjective is a part of speech that functions as noun, adjective, and adverb modifier, to modify noun, adjective and adverb.

Function of adjective :

a.       Adjective as noun modifier

          Example :  John is a professional doctor.

                         We are very satisfied with Grammar subject.

                        All student are tired.

b.      Adjective as adjective modifier                     

         Example : They are very happy.

                        This river is so deep.

c.       Adjective as adverb modifier

         Example :  They dance very beautifully.

                        They run so quickly.

Classification of Adjective :

a.       Attributive adjective

          Is the adjective  that preceeds the head (noun).

Example :        They are active and creative students.

b.      Predicative adjective

         Is the adjective that function as subjective complement.

Example :        They are very active.

                        We were sick last year.

                        They were tired last night.

                        We are very happy with Grammar subject.

Form of Adjective :

a.       Common adjective adalah kata sifat umum, e.g : rich, deep, nice, sweet, hot, cool, etc.

b.      Present participle adalah V-ing form that function as adjective, e.g : satisfying, boring, tiring, disappointing, etc.

c.       Past participle adalah V-3 function that function as adjective, e.g : satisfied, bored, tired, etc.
